Match No 10

Forth Round Bournemouth vs Liverpool Saturday 25th January 2014

For the first time on the Chritable Road I decided to go to the game with supporters. A coach load of Liverpool supporters to be exact. I was made warmly welcome be the Essex Reds and in particular Pat Wooler who arranges everything for those particular Liverpool supporters. As well as being a really nice bunch, and much to my surprise, they had a collection for the East Anglian Children's Hospice helping add over £40 to the amount raised... so a massive thank you to all those kind supporters.

The game started with Bournemouth making the early inroads into the Liverpool half, lots of possession, nice passing but no real chances. On 25 minutes a half chance, not even that, fell to Moses and he drilled the ball home form the edge of the area. The premiership class really showing in that 1moment. Bournemouth worked hard and created a few more half chances but nothing was really worrying the keeper. Liverpool always looking sharper in the final third of the pitch. In the second half it was much as the first 45 minutes, nice football from Bournemouth but no cutting edge. after about 15 minutes of the second half a through ball to Sturridge and it was 2-0 and really game over.Plenty of nice football from both teams but the scoreline never looked like changing.
