What a great day at hampton & Richmond, a nice train journey into London. A few tube stops then an interview with Mark Murphy of BBC Radion Suffolk while standing on the banks of the river Thames. The fans and officials of Hampton were so kind and welcoming, the P/A announcer kept everyone informed about our visit. I was hoping for a home win Arlesey scored first after 5 minutes. The lead didnt last too long as Hampton struck back twice in a couple of frantic minutes.
The second half started with Hampton pressing for the third goal wich duly arrived. It wasnt long before the impressive Charlie Moone got his hat-trick as he rounded the keeper and put the ball into the empty net for 4-1.
Arlesey tried hard to get back into the game but even with Barry Hales leading the line they never threaten. A late goal from Hampton put the icing on the cake for the hosts with a very impressive 5-1.
The Hampton officials even funelled everyone past us as we made our healthy collection of £141 at the main gate.
