Charitable Road to Wembley

The game on Saturday between between Arlesey Town and Thurrock was a typical cup tie with no quarter given. Arlesey struck first after 5 minutes with a clever set piece. After that it was Thurrock who increased the tempo and almost got back into the game just before the break.The second half saw Thurrock continue to push for an equaliser with Arlesey hitting them on the break. A very enjoyable game was almost marred when both sets of players squared up to each other. Overall the young Ipswich referee handled a difficult game very well. In the end Arlesey hung on. Final score 1-0
